Join other parents and Community Members and meet with the Administrative Staff at SCI in a relaxed environment. The meetings are held monthly in the SCI Library. All are welcome. If you have a topic of interest or would just like to meet and share ideas in a comfortable atmosphere, please come out. This is a great opportunity to learn about your child's school. SCI Parent Advisory Council for School Leadership
Monday, February 28, 2013

Attendance: Ross Martin, Theresa Spapens, Vicki Tobias, Jodi Handoga, Jackie Julien, Tony Stanley , Gladys Hayward-Williams

1.      Call to Order at 6:31 p.m.

2.      Approval of Agenda: Motion (1) by Theresa, 2nd Jodi. Carried. 

3.      Approval of Minutes: November 26, 2012 & January 21, 2013 Motion (2) by Jodi, 2nd Theresa. Carried 

4.      Chair’s Report: Ross reported on resignation of Karen Carey. Discussion regarding the PSFB program to revamp science labs and the application and approval process.  

5.      Principal’s Report: – Report given by Jackie Julien on the activities of the Music Department, Spirit Week and 2013-2014 registration. 

6.      Treasurer’s Report: No report. Balance in account is $502.84.  

7.      Student Council’s Report: Vicki provided the report as Faith was unable to attend the meeting. Sold 77 “Crush for Crush” which were delivered on Valentine’s Day. Currently helping with Spirit Week and planning activities for April. 

8.      Correspondence: Motion (3) to receive and file letter from SPPA acknowledging 2012 donation by Jodi, 2nd Theresa. Carried. 

9.      Business arising from Minutes: 

·        Field of Visions – No report.  

·        SPPA – No report. The next SPPA meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2013 

10.   New Business:   

·        Amendments to Bill 14 – discussion on legislative process and opportunity for PACs and individuals to bring forth concerns. 

·        Sunrise 2013/2014 budget presentation – rescheduled to February 28, 2013. 

11.   Date of Next Meeting: Monday, March 18, 2013
