Join other parents and Community Members and meet with the Administrative Staff at SCI in a relaxed environment. The meetings are held monthly in the SCI Library. All are welcome. If you have a topic of interest or would just like to meet and share ideas in a comfortable atmosphere, please come out. This is a great opportunity to learn about your child's school. The next meeting dates will be posted on the sci website calendar. There is also a mail box for the Parent Council in the school office if you have any information you would like to drop off.

As Shawn Brook was absent from the meeting, Carolyn Whyte, the Vice Chair, acted as Chair of the meeting.

5.      Principal’s Report: – Report given by Jackie Julien on start up, upcoming SCI professional development, school goals for 2013-2014, student enrollment, student parking, upcoming events and restorative practices. Report received as information.

6.      Treasurer’s Report: Verbal report given. Balance in bank account is $282.14. Report received as information.

7.      Student Council’s Report: No report. Student council for 2013/14 school year has not yet been established.

8.      Correspondence: Letter from Benito School Parent Council regarding fundraiser, memorandum from Wayne Leckie regarding presentation by Dr. Martin Brokenleg, letter from Manitoba Education regarding Evaluating Non-Manitoba Education Course Completion for Senior Years Credits, and letter from Manitoba Education re: education for sustainable development leadership council: creating a sustainable future together. Receive as information.

9.      Business arising from Minutes:

10.   New Business:

·        Field of Dreams – A question was raised regarding the status of the Field of Dreams project. Jackie Julien advised that this project is not proceeding. Another question was raised regarding distribution of the funds raised for this project. Jackie Julien advised she will look into this and report back at the next meeting.
