School Leadership

Call to Order at 6:31 p.m.
2.
Approval of Agenda: Motion (1) by Jodi,
2nd Theresa. Carried.
3.
Approval of Minutes: February 28, 2013 Motion
(2) by Jodi, 2nd Theresa. Carried.
4.
Chair’s Report: Ross advised the
meeting of the DPAC meeting take place on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
5.
Principal’s Report: – Report given by
Jackie Julien on registration for the 2013-2014 school year, staff for
2013-2014, Mini WE Week, Quebec Trip and Band Trip.
6.
Treasurer’s Report: No report. Balance in
account is approximately $500.00.
7.
Student Council’s
Report:
Faith reported on Spirit Week and Student Council’s plans for May activities.
8.
Correspondence: Motion (3) to
receive and file fundraising information by Jodi, 2nd Theresa.
Carried. Letter received from Manitoba PC Caucus regarding Bill 18: The Public
Schools Amendment Act (Safe and Inclusive Schools) outlining requirements for
identifying and reporting bullying activities. This will be discussed under New
Business.

Business arising from
Minutes:

Field
of Visions – No report.
·
SPPA
– No report. The SPPA has requested monetary support of their scholarship
program. (Motion (4) to donate
$180.00 to the SPPA for scholarship program by Jodi, 2nd by Faith.
Carried.

New Business:
·
SDD
Budget 2013 – Impact on SCI – Reduction in staffing for 2013-2014 school year.
Capital D projects not announced yet. This information should be available at
May 27th meeting.

Anti-Bullying
Bill 18 – The letter received from PC Manitoba contains a link to a survey that
Advisory Council members may complete if they wish online. Theresa will scan
and email the letter to all Advisory Council members for their information.
·
Cyclist
Helmet law effective May 1, 2013 – This item was placed on the agenda to notify
parents that this law will be coming into effect on May 1, 2013. The law
requires people under 18 to wear helmets while riding a bicycle or risk a $50
fine.
