Join other parents and Community Members and meet with the Administrative Staff at SCI in a relaxed environment. The meetings are held monthly in the SCI Library. All are welcome. If you have a topic of interest or would just like to meet and share ideas in a comfortable atmosphere, please come out. This is a great opportunity to learn about your child's school. SCI Parent Advisory Council for School Leadership

Annual General Meeting

September 24, 2012

Attendance: Ross Martin, Kathy Andersson, John MacDonald, Pam MacDonald, Faith Gushulak, Theresa Spapens, Jackie Julien, Carrie Schimnowski, Tony Stanley, Diane Duma

1.) Call to Order at 7:07 pm by Ross

2.) Approval of Agenda: Motion (1) by John, 2nd Kathy. Carried.

3.) Approval of Minutes: September 26, 2011:  Motion (2) by Pam, 2nd Kathy.  Carried.

4.) Chairperson's Report: > Ross thanked the previous executive body for all of their positive work.  He also thanked the previous administration as well as the trustees.  We had a busy year:  Our dealings with MAPC led us to not renew our membership in 2011-2012;  Ross attended the bus policy committee meetings during the year and was happy with the way things were handled;  Ross represented our executive committee and made a presentation to the SSD trustees regarding changes that were needed at SCI;  Ross spoke at the Grade 9 orientation session encouraging the parents to join PAC; he mentioned the Kids in the Know presentation on Internet Safety and the presentation put on by SCI administration regarding the 21st century learner's brain;  Ross mentioned our successful perogy and sausage fund raiser, spearheaded by Kathy, money earned was donated to SPPA for music scholarship and FOV; he mentioned the lively discussion we had with administration regarding the use of canteen funds and also the articles I had written for the school newsletter regarding the teenage brain.
