1. Call to Order: 6:30
p.m.
2. Approval of Agenda:
The agenda was approved as presented.
3. Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the February 24, 2014 meeting were approved as presented.
4. Chair’s Report:
Shawn advised that the Executive meets at 6:00 (immediately prior to meeting
with the administration) to discuss any items they want brought forward to the
meeting with administration. Shawn thanked the administration for their open
discussions. Also, thank you to Jackie for speaking on behalf of the ACSL at
the grade 9 orientation evening.
5. Principal’s Report:
Jackie Julien reported on 2014-2015 which was nearly complete (only 35
registration forms outstanding), more parental input into registration process
next year, Europe trip is leaving Wednesday, Talent Show Wednesday and Grade
Wars had excellent participation.
6. Treasurer’s Report:
The balance in the bank account is $407.14.
7. Student Council’s Report:
No report. Student Council for 2013/14 school has not been established. A
suggestion was made that a student from Social Justice be invited to the
Executive meetings to get student feedback. Shawn will forward an email Jackie
who will in turn send it on to Mr. Kitching (the teacher in charge of Social
Justice).

Correspondence: Received
invitation to Sunrise School Divisional PAC Meeting on April 29, 2014 at 7:00
p.m. at the Sunrise School Division Education Centre.
9. Business arising from
Minutes:
· Nomination
for Award of Excellence in Teaching – Patricia advised that students in grade
eleven this year will be nominating Mr. K. Frederiksen, for the 2014-2015
school year. Jodi will look for precedents to help with completion of
paperwork.
·
Honour roll criteria –
Jackie will canvass other schools to see what they are doing.
10. New Business:
·
DPAC Meeting –Tuesday, April
29, 2014 – Theresa will ask Patricia and Maryn if they would like to attend on
behalf of the ACSL.
·
Smoking at SCI – Shawn will
draft a letter to Wayne Leckie from the ACSL requesting the smoking area be
moved by the compound. Carolyn will go to the RM Office to clarify who owns the
land around the school yard.
·
Teacher Appreciation – A
teacher appreciation luncheon will be held for SCI staff, date and details to
be announced. Carolyn and Shari volunteered to organize the lunch. Some SCI
students will be asked to assist.
